ISPA Certified Sail Instruction

Benefits of Certification
Morgana Sailing provides ISPA (International Sail and Power Association) accredited sail instruction for Competent Crew and Day Skipper certification.

A new sailor

Our ISPA programs are designed to guide you through the achievement of the competencies of skill and confidence in sailing, enabling you to fulfill your sailing dreams. All of this, while sailing in Canada's best sailing waters off Vancouver Island, BC.

ISPA certification is internationally recognized. Day Skipper certification, for example, qualifies you to bare-boat charter recreational sailing vessels in many locations around the world.

* ISPA is a Canadian Coast Guard accredited course provider.

Everyone is now required to hold their Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). We can provide training for and administration of the exam.

The Competent Crew instruction will provide you with the skills to live aboard a sailing vessel in tidal waters. In an emergency, you will be able to substitute as skipper. You will be certified to sail a vessel where no navigational hazards exist, within 5 miles of safe harbour, during daylight hours only, in light to moderate wind conditions.

The Day Skipper instruction will provide you with certification as the skipper of a live aboard sailing vessel. This will prepare you to be responsible for the safety of your vessel and crew, while day sailing in familiar waters, within 10 miles of safe harbour, during daylight, in moderate wind and sea conditions using basic navigational skills.
